Dale KERR GENGE   For Mayor, For Taxpayers

Throughout her 40-year career, Dale's technical focus has been on long-term repair and maintenance of buildings, capital asset planning, and long-term financial management. Dale began her professional career as a researcher, working at the University of Toronto, the Division of Building Research - National Research Council of Canada, and then at the Ontario Research Foundation. She then joined Morrison Hershfield Consulting Engineers as a Project Engineer, rising to the position of Manager of Building Science where she was responsible for a staff of 12 engineers and technicians. Dale left Morrison Hershfield when she was expecting her second child to focus on her professional communications business, Kerr Associates Technology Transfer. This move allowed her to work at home while her children were growing up.

In 1993, Dale and her husband Jerry started GRG Building Consultants. Dale was responsible for all financial and human resources management for the company, as well as writing the important proposals and conducting building condition assessments and reserve fund studies. The firm grew to a staff of 25 with offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Newmarket.

The consulting engineering firm was sold to a larger company in 2017, and Dale retired from the company in 2018 to again focus on her writing. She prepared the first draft of a CSA Standard for the installation of high performance windows and developed a Useful Life Indicator for Affordable Housing Projects for CMHC. Dale also wrote a graphic novel for children about the plumbing systems in a house and is hoping to find a publisher for the book. Dale then worked briefly for the Town of Georgina teaching kids basketball and soccer, before deciding to run for Council in the 2022 election.

Physical Building Management

Dale wrote an 800+ page book for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario course on Physical Building Management. The course was a requirement towards their Property Managers' Certification Program.
