Dale KERR GENGE   For Mayor, For Taxpayers

Dale has been involved in Georgina's community since moving to Pefferlaw in 1989, with the Board of Little Sprout Nursery School and the Morning Glory School Council. She was also on the Town of Georgina's Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Council (now the Heritage Committee) and the Committee of Adjustment.

After moving to Jackson's Point in 1996, Dale continued her community involvement as a member and Chair of the Sutton Public School Council, member of the Sutton High School Council and the Town of Georgina Accessibility Advisory Committee. She was a coach for Lake Simcoe Soccer Club for 11 years, the secretary and treasurer for the Georgina Ice-Ations Synchronized Skating team and a board member of Southlake Futures. Dale is the treasurer for Health Georgina and as the Chair of its Building Committee was able to find $350,000 in savings, which allowed the Nurse Practitioner Clinic in Sutton to be rebuilt after its devastating fire.

As a Councillor, she has been an active member of the Sutton BIA (Business Improvement Area), the Jackson's Point BIA, the Egypt Hall Board, the Art Gallery of Georgina, Health Georgina and the Heritage Committee. Dale founded SOS Georgina to provide supports to the homeless and precariously housed in Georgina, including shower passes to the pool, laundry passes, clothing, tents, sleeping bags, and a Tuesday dinner prepared by Elaine Coates of Black River Coffee.

Many Georgina residents comment that Dale seems to be everywhere, as she attends and sponsors many community events, including among others, the Wednesday Community Lunch at the Link, the Harvest Dinner in support of the Good Food Collective and the Jiggs Dinner in support of Hospice Georgina.

Shovelling Snow

Creating a walkway between the sidewalk and the road at the accessible parking spot in front of the Sutton Post Office fell between the cracks, with none of the post office, York Region or the Town initially taking responsibility. So Dale took it upon herself to help keep a clear path. The Town is now taking responsibility at Dale's insistence.
